The Food and Security Initiatives is an international transdisciplinary, collaborative engagement of a rather frightening type of realization: the nexus between food (as a code word for the basic human needs for food, water, warmth, rest) and security (and its complex apparatuses).

Compounding an already complicated situation is the dilemma that global security concerns are growing despite innovations in technology resources which are continually designed and deployed to do just that work: secure humans. Breakthroughs and improvements in science also turn out to be capable of being in both different and disturbing ways, especially by hungry or religious peoples.

OUR TEAM

Whether in Africa or in the Americas, consequences of dearths in food supplies or even a lack of security are undeniable. This is why we invite organizations—states and corporations—and individuals to partner with us in holding critical conversations around research address the concerning issues that derive from the raison d’etres of national and global security. Consequences of ignoring food and security issues can be devastating.
